From the front...

The door on the P182 is the same shape as on its forerunner, featuring a cut-out that gives access to the front ports when the door is closed.

At the top of the cut-out is a power light for the system. Below that are five ports - one FireWire, two USB 2.0, mic and headphone - followed by a door-lock.

It's all very familiar inside the door, too, with the same number of drive bays as its predecessor - four 5.25in and one 2.5in. There are two vents on the front panel, each for use with an optional fan.

Power and reset buttons are concealed when the door is closed. The idea is to increase security but anyone who pushes a PC hard will likely need to access these buttons regularly and find it chore to have to open the door to do so.

With the front-panel swung open, you can see a pair of washable filters pre-fitted to the P182. The downside, though, is that the front-panel can only be opened after you've removed both side panels. And that can become annoying - the right-hand panel doesn't have thumbscrews, so requires use of a screwdriver.

It would be a lot nicer if Antec used thumbscrews to secure both the side panels.
