Hot on the heels of today's AMD Radeon HD 2900 XT announcement, Scan is launching a mid-priced SKU from its 3XS line of configurable desktops.

The Scan 3XS AMD-R600 comprises of the following core components:

Components SilverStone TJ-05B ATX Case (inc. SP-05B Window Side Panel)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz CPU overclocked to 3.0GHz
2GB (2 x 1GB) Corsair Dominator PC8500 Memory
Cooler Master 850W Modular ATX PSU (including 8-pin PCIe connector)
abit AB9 QuadGT ATX i965 Mainboard
3XS H20-A1 Compact CPU Watercooling System
AMD/ATI HD2900XT (R600) Graphics running in Overdrive mode
500GB Western Digital SATA HDD (SATA300 / NCQ)
Samsung 18X Dual Layer Multi-Format DVD-R/W
Mitsumi 1.44MB / Flash Reader Combo Drive
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Acronis TrueImage v10 Recovery System

The newest element of this system, of course, is the graphics card. Please take a look at our review to see if it's up to giving the green team's G80 a run for its money.

The system features a compact watercooling system, enthusiast-oriented components such as abit's AB9 QuadGT motherboard, Corsair Dominator PC8500 memory, an 8-pin PCIe-bearing Cooler Master 850W PSU (although a 1kW model is pictured) and an overclocked Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 3GHz.

It looks good, should be quiet and is scheduled to tip the financial scales at £1250, including VAT, sans monitor.

Being picky, we'd like to have seen the GPU and chipsets blocks watercooled, as well, but that would have necessitated a larger cooling kit.

We'll be taking an in-depth look at in the near future, so stay tuned.

This system is currently available to configure and buy right over here.

Wow, according to the specs you get a pair of Silverstone cases! Dual channel case config?….

I wonder what the CPU temps are like with a single fan radiator….

Nice system overall
