It's available in 4GB and 8GB capacities and said to deliver not only water-resistance to a depth of 200 metres but also shock-proofing, courtesy of a triple-point protection system.
One factor is the use of CNC (computer numerical control) milled aluminium - as used in the production of aircraft parts.
The 8GB Flash Survivor GT offers claimed sustained read speeds up to 34MB/sec and write speeds up to 28MB/sec. Both models are backed by a ten-year warranty.
Corsair guarantee that the Flash Survivor GT model offers file transfer speeds up to 5 times faster than typical USB drives, thanks to an advanced memory controller and "enhanced" dual-channel and interleave memory technologies. Highl- screened NAND flash memory is used as well.
Featuring USB 1.1 backward functionality, the ability to create hidden, password protected partitions is offered via the security software pre-loaded on the disk. Password encryption comes courtesy of a 256bit AES encryption algorithm, for peace of mind.
