Featuring NVIDIA's nForce® 650i MCP (Media & Communications Processor), XFX recently released their XFX 650i Ultra motherboard, claiming a redefinition of motherboards with the comprehensive overclocking tools included, allowing for performance gains to benefit all user groups, not just those traditionally associated with overclocking.

The NVIDIA® nTune™ utility, part of the touted functionality, allows users to manipulate CPU and memory speeds, without the need for a system reboot, whilst users are also able to access most BIOS settings from within the Windows Operating System.

Application profiles functionality is also detailed, allowing users to save and load, automatically of course, performance profiles for applications run.

The 650i Ultra's DDR2 memory controller is also highlighted as offering commendable performance, through its ability to ensure that data and information is relayed through the system in a speedy manner, whilst XFX also cite that the presence of NVIDIA's nForce® 650i Ultra MCP immediately escalates system performance.

NVIDIA® FirstPacket™ technology and MediaShield™ Storage are amongst the other features boasted by the motherboard, which comes with support for four S-ATA 3GB/s storage drives, and USB 2.0 functionality.

I cant see anything that makes it anymore ‘ultra’ than my standard 650i board, both can do first packet(not techincally a 650 feature, never the less), both do 1333fsb and both use “state of the art” DDR2, not that theres really any choice there.

Another case of XFX putting more effort into their press release than their motherboard?
it's because it uses the 650i Ultra chipset rather than 650i SLI.
& i would put money on it being a reference mobo the same as the eVGA …
it will either be really good, or a huge flop, like anything with XFX tbh
