Something ELSE to slot your iPod into

CES 2007 ViewSonic have announced the world’s first High Definition, fully-featured, multifunction, “Made for iPod,” DLP front projector.

The PJ258D will let those ever so slightly smug iPod enthusiasts slot their iPods into the projector so we can see their latest purchase from iTunes in massive wall sized glory.

According to ViewSonic, iPod users are three times as likely to download video clips, movies and Web casts to their computers which means that the PJ258D is perfect for letting us all suffer an iPod user’s tastes. Weighing in at less than 4 pounds, the PJ258D is portable too, meaning we’re not even safe in our own homes…

Worse, the PJ258D docking station connects the iPod with video directly to the projector, eliminating the need for a computer to project video content and if we haven’t suffered enough already, the damn PJ258D charges the iPod’s battery while the content is being played to make hours of suffering possible.

There is an upside though as the projector also supports other digital media through its multiple connectivity options, including S-Video and VGA, which will enable users to connect to PCs, DVD players and video game consoles.

Built on Texas Instruments’ award-winning DLP platform, the PJ258D has a 1024x768 XGA resolution, 2,000 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ratio which, according to ViewSonic, delivers bright, crisp pictures and video playback in any setting.

The PJ258D will be available in Q1 through authorized ViewSonic professional audio-visual resellers, distributors and solution providers for an estimated street price of $999.

High Definition and iPOD should NEVER be used in the same sentence.
Does every piece of consumer electronics have to have a made for iPod variant? What's next razer with iPod attachment? iPod with iPod attachment?
