AMD Quadfather - first part of an epic trilogy?
It's déjà vu all over again. Just as Intel beat AMD to dual-core by a month or so, now AMD's first taster of four-core desktop computing is about to arrive in the wake of Intel's. Except this time the story is even more complicated. AMD's first quad-core desktop isn't so much two dual-core processors in one package, as with Intel's Core 2 Quad, but two entirely separate CPUs. Any self-respecting hardware enthusiast will know all this, though. What everyone is waiting for is details of the platform and concrete benchmark results....
