Introduction
A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases, it will never pass into nothingness. But not everyone can afford a gorgeously modded, timeless PC design with a myriad unique features. Sometimes you just want value for money, and MESH Computers has been laying claim to the value end of the UK PC market for more than a decade. The company has a solid reputation when it comes to balancing performance, specification and price. But there's more to a great system than just good value. It also needs at least some character and a discerning choice of components to win favour over the many value systems vying for your pound.
MESH's Elite E6600 Express certainly seems to have all the tickboxes filled for a value mid-range PC. Intel Core 2 Duo - check. SLI-capable motherboard - check. Graphics card with worthwhile SLI upgrade potential - check. As this is a mainstream PC, you also get a decent 19in TFT and 7.1 surround speakers included in the price. But does all this add up to a worthwhile package, or would you be better off building your own? We ran the MESH through our usual rigorous array of tests and feature assessments to find out, and this is what we discovered.
