Silverstone has released two new liquid coolers as part of its Tundra range. The Tundra TD02 and TD03 are maintenance-free, full alloy water block, liquid cooling solutions for your CPU. Both of the new designs offer “easy installation” thanks to a screwless clipping system. These liquid coolers are compatible with processors utilising Socket LGA775, 115X, 1366, 2011, AM2, AM3, FM1 and FM2.
It’s been a long time since Silverstone introduced the Tundra TD01 which was an external liquid cooling system aimed at HTPCs, introduced in 2006. These two new members of the range are very different, being aimed at regular PC builders and of course offering compatibility with current socket designs a lot like the Corsair Hydro series. However Silverstone reckons its offerings are “a breakthrough in a market segment filled with similar-looking products.” Furthermore “Its unique full alloy water-block is constructed with copper base and aluminium body for better durability compared to plastic-built competitors”.
Both the new Tundra TD02 and TD03 share the following features:
- Easy installation with aluminum clips and steel back-plate
- Maintenance free, no refill required
- Dual auto adjustable 120mm PWM fans included
- Durable copper based full alloy water-block for improved reliability
- Patented brazing fins radiator increase cooling efficiency by 40%
- Socket LGA775/115X/1366/2011/AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2 compatibility
The radiator design on this new pair of liquid coolers is a patented design which “utilizes brazing fins similar to those used in top air coolers for increased heat transfer efficiency by up to 40% over traditional radiators”. Silverstone says both these coolers are durable and well constructed.
Tundra TD02
The Tundra TD02 cooler radiator measures 278mm (L) x 124mm (W) x 45mm (H) and the water block is 60mm (L) x 55mm (W) x 33.5mm (H). The unit weighs in at 1.5Kg. Noise level is said to be in the range of 16~33.5dBA dependent upon the speed of the auto adjustable 120mm fans which spin at 1500~2500RPM.
Tundra TD03
The Tundra TD03 cooler radiator measures 159mm (L) x 124mm (W) x 45mm (H) and the water block is 60mm (L) x 55mm (W) x 33.5mm (H). The unit weighs in at 1063g. Noise level is said to be in the range of 16~33.5dBA dependent upon the speed of the auto adjustable 120mm fans which spin at 1500~2500RPM.
This new pair of Silverstone liquid coolers are due to hit retailers later this week though we have no official pricing details as yet.
