ECS are the latest motherboard manufacturer to release a board sporting Intel's Viiv technology.
The ECS 945G-M3 is based on (I hope at least some of you can guess this one...) Intel's 945G chipset, including an ICH7DH southbridge, gearing it up for digital home usage. Furthermore, the 945G-M3 is one of ECS's latest line of RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliant motherboards.
The board has two DDR2-DIMM slots, along with a PEG, 1x PCIe and two PCI slots. Along the back I/O panel are the jacks for Intel's HD audio output and of course Intel's latest GMA integrated graphics. Four 3Gbps SATA connections see to the storage subsystem.
With an RRP of Ā£57.50 excluding evil VAT and available now, the board could make a good base for anybody building a dual-core CPU system for their digital home, providing people are buying into Intel's Viiv marketing.
