Invisible screens

According to a Japanese patent agency, Nintendo has registered the name "Nintendo Floor Vision".

The Nintendo booth at last years E3 showed a touchscreen on the floor. As you can see from this video clip the screen shows a wooden bridge with fish swimming underneath. Apparently when you walked across the bridge it disappeared from under your feet. After then stepping in the water, and stepping on a fish, they swam away.

I'm bemused as to how they have created a screen that doesn't look like a screen and how Nintendo intend to use this technology with future games.

'At the Leipzig Games Convention, Nintendo used the same technique to organise a game at their booth. By rolling sort of an oversized stylus over the floor, a simple game was played on the videoscreen.'

There is currently no further information.

Seen that technology on gadget shows on TV ages ago. They even have what looks like a cheap knock-off of the fish demo in my local shopping centre.
I wonder how they can incorporate that technology in the home, if that is what their plan is.
Could use it to annoy the cat.
