Connect3D bundle and presentation
Connect3D's packaging is a makeshift affair. The box pertains to ATI's Radeon X800, yet a sticker, on the left-hand side and added afterwards, tells you that it's a Radeon X800 GTO 256MB package. The other notable features, x12 PCI-Express support (don't worry, it works just fine in a regular x16 slot) and VIVO functionality, are also clearly displayed. On a completely unrelated note, the leggy babe on the cover has been in one scrap too many, it seems.
The card bundle is more basic than deluxe. Appropriate drivers are included on a couple of CDs, but there's no Connect3D-branded overclocking/monitoring utility. DVD playback software comes in the form of CyberLink's PowerDVD 5 (2-channel), and that's your software fill. There's no game bundle here, either, although the keen price and VIVO functionality make up for its omission, we suppose. Connect3D markets its card as a feature-rich Radeon X800 GTO 256MB card that retails at a competitive price. We can't argue with that. Connect3D also adds in a basic reference and installation guide. Hardware-wise, there's a 6-foot-long coaxial cable, a molex-to-PCI-Express power adapter, and, of course, a single DVI dongle.
Every card partner seems intent on highlighting component connectivity. That's what the function of the red, green, and blue cables on the left-hand side. You'll need extension cables to hook them up to intended sources, however. There's also a handy adapter that offers both S-Video and RCA (coaxial) inputs and outputs; primarily to facilitate connections to the card's Rage Theater ASIC.
