We took a detailed look at Patriot's Pyro SSD in August, and the company has sent over word that it has now expanded the line-up, with the launch of the Pyro SE SSD.
Available in 120GB and 240GB capacities, the Pyro SE SSD takes advantage of SATA 6Gbps connectivity, and is powered by the SandForce SF-2281 SSD processor. Numbers-wise, we're talking about maximum sequential read/write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 520MB/s respectively, and maximum 4KB random write operations per second, rated at 85,000 IOPS. As you'd expect, the Pyro SE is enhanced with TRIM support, as well as DuraClass and DuraWrite technologies.
It's added that the Pyro SE beings the added performance of synchronous NAND, whilst delivering a very aggressive price-to-performance ratio. That said, no pricing details have been made available, at the time of going to press.
