Whilst its 8-core FX-8120 sibling made an impromptu appearance last week, the 4-core FX-4100 has also emerged at US-based e-tailer - Provantage.

Currently being listed as a 'Special Order' item, the FX-4100 - with its 3.6GHz base clock speed - carries the part number 'FD4100WMW4KGU' and comes with a 95W TDP.

As for pricing, this is listed at $120.68 US Dollars. We've not had much mention of pricing on the 4-core flavours, so it gives us some indication of where the FX-Series price-points, could be expected to bottom-out.

95W for a chip with 4 cores, 8MB or cache, running at 3.6GHz, is pretty damned amazing!

i want one, in a Silverstone FT03 case.

p.s. is this a real four core, or a cut-down eight core?

But motherboard manufacturers own pages suggest this can be the case. :)
