CrystalDiskMark
CrystalDiskMark is a different type of benchmark beast. Using heaps of incompressible data, thereby nullifying some of the benefits of the SandForce controller, means performance isn't so hot.
It's strange the performance of a single drive is so low, but the results were consistent over five runs.
The incompressible data presents itself in both read and write scenarios. Surprisingly, two 60GB ADATA S511s are slower than a 120GB Patriot Wildfire, which uses the same controller and BIOS but has a greater number of memory chips. The ADATA pair are considerably quicker than the also-SandForce-powered Force 3.
