We've seen a slew of passively-cooled graphics cards recently - from the like of Gigabyte and PowerColor, for example - and now Sapphire is putting silence to the forefront with its HD 6670 ULTIMATE.

Sapphire tells us that the 1,024MB HD 6670 ULTIMATE - endowed with an 800MHz core speed and 4,000MHz effective GDDR5 memory speed - delivers the feature-set and performance of fan-cooled models, despite being totally silent.

The cooling solution itself taps into the potential of heat-pipes, and from a connectivity viewpoint, you've got Dual-Link DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort to play with. If it's freebies you're looking for, Sapphire includes an access code for DiRT3, and this offer extends to a number of other SKUs too.

I said it on the gigabyte story too, but I am liking these passively cooled cards. They offer enough grunt for me, a casual gamer, without breaking a) the bank and b) my quiet pc's low decibel output. Keep it coming…
This is almost perfect, I want a SINGLE slot quietly cooled 6670 as I believe it would be an awesome HTPC addition, my laptop with a 6650M and a mobile Phenom II 2.1GHz is already able to handle a game like BF:BC2 @ 720p, Medium settings, this coupled with a I3, I5, Athlon II, Phenom II @2~3GHz, should be able to be adjusted down to a small case with nice performance.
Agree with you Medallish - single slot is what's desired.

A number of mATX motherboards I've seen still have two - quickly aging - PCI slots and a PCIe-x1 slot. Now guess which slot is often put next to the PCIe-x16 slot, which often houses a 2-slot-wide card?

I'm afraid to say that, if you think it's one of those two PCI slots, you're wrong.
