An AMD 990X/SB950 powered motherboard, from ASUS, has been caught on camera.
The M5A99X EVO dons the AM3+ socket, and is designed for upcoming FX-series 'Zambezi' CPUs. Going down the passive cooling route, there's apparently a beefed up 8-phase Digi+ VRM for power delivery, and three PCIe x16 slots for discrete graphics. CrossFireX support comes naturally, but it's not clear whether NVIDIA's SLI initiative has quite made it in yet.
With its black and blue colour scheme, inclusions such as SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 connectivity should be part of the package, together with a host of additions - such as the manufacturer's Energy Processing Unit (EPU) and TurboV Processing Unit (TPU).
Said to be a mid-range flavour including a UEFI BIOS, this offering (together with an outpouring of countless other AM3+ solutions) is apparently pencilled in for a June launch.
