Acer has debuted its Web Surf Station - the DX241H - billed as the first monitor that allows you to enjoy multimedia pursuits and web browsing, without the requirement for a computer.
The 24in Full HD display uses TN+Crystalbrite panel technology, has a native resolution of 1,920x1,080, plus a quoted contrast ratio of 80,000:1. Acer also mentions the adoption of Overdrive technology - combined with a claimed 2ms response time - for faithful reproduction of moving images, together with Adaptive Contrast Management, to enhance visuals.
Acer tells us that web browsing is intuitive and easy, using the built-in browser offering, and that its clear.fi solution allows users to share (and enjoy) media from throughout their home networks, external storage devices and services such as Picasa and Flickr.
The DLNA certified DX241H, boasting both wired and wireless connectivity, together with a myriad of other inclusions - such as a built-in card reader, USB ports and HDMI inputs - is expected to become available in May, at an SRP of £299, including VAT.
