After teasing the Eee Slate EP121 earlier this year, particularly during CES 2011, ASUS has done one better by announcing the launch of its nifty slate today.

Harnessing an Intel Core i5-470UM dual-core processor and Intel GMA HD graphics, the Eee Slate EP121 goes Gorilla to provide a durable, and hopefully scratch-proof, 12.1in backlit LED display.

With Windows 7 Home Premium taking OS duties to task, the Eee Slate EP121 bundles a front-facing 2MP camera, boasts a 17mm thick profile, provides multiple input options - including Bluetooth keyboard and Wacom Digitaliser stylus - and crams in a 64GB SSD for data storage.

Together with an integrated mini HDMI port, the Eee Slate EP121 incorporates 802.11b/g/n wireless capabilities, Bluetooth 3.0 and a built-in card reader.

Billed as a slate that combines the freedom of a tablet with the functionality of a notebook, the Eee Slate EP121 is kitted out with an RRP of £999, including VAT, and will initially be available from Amazon in early April.
