Apple's iPad 2 might look tempting, but there are still plenty of reasons to admire its trendsetting predecessor - including a new lower price.

With the iPad 2 making its way to retail on March 11th, the original iPad is now available priced at £329 for a 16GB model, £399 for 32GB and £479 for 64GB. That's a price cut of £100, £100 and £120, respectively.

The same price-slashing axe has been swung at first-generation iPad 3Gs, too, with the three 16GB, 32GB and 64GB 3G-enabled variants now going for £429, £499 and £579, respectively.

iPad 2 might be the new cream of Apple's crop, but if built-in cameras and a thinner profile aren't of the utmost importance, now might be a good time to pick up the original.

Yep. £329 is pretty good for an ipad IMO

I wonder how low ebay ones have to go now ?
eBay people are screwed :D
Refurb at £289 even better I think - finally gone and purchased one.

I figure that when I do want to upgrade (iPad 2/3), I won't lose much when I sell this one on.
