Keeping the Radeon HD 6800-series theme going this morning, MSI is outing the Twin Frozr II card for the Radeon HD 6870 GPU.
Part of its 'Military Class' line-up that aims to improve the reference design in every way, MSI claims that the Frozr II is 19°C cooler and 12.8dB quieter than AMD's base HD 6870.
Equipped with twin 80mm PWM-controlled fans and the usual mass of cooling associated with Frozr II, MSI is releasing it in two flavours: one with default HD 6870 frequencies of 900MHz core and 4,200MHz memory, and one 'OC' model with the core pushed up to 920MHz.
Both cards will support over-volting of the GPU and ship with MSI's Afterburner software.
MSI keeps the full range of Radeon 6800-series ports. This means single- and dual-link DVI, HDMI, and two mini-DisplayPort.
No word on pricing, but we reckon that the Frozr II duo will need to come in at around £200 to be competitive against the pre-overclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 GPUs on the market.
