Acer's range of netbooks offer a decent mix of low-cost computing and stylish appearance, but if recent efforts such as the Aspire One D260 just aren't igniting your senses, take a look at the new Aspire One Happy.
As the name suggests, this colourful little machine is designed to make you feel better.
It's all to do with the power of colours, you see, as Acer reckons the candy-like shades will "bring happiness to our life, uplift our mood, soothe and relax or energize and excite".
That's a helluva feature list for a 10.1in netbook, but what's most likely to make you smile is the comforting starting price of Ā£249.99.
For that small fee, you get a choice of four pastel colours - Candy Pink, Lavender, Lime Green or Hawaii Blue - and two dual-booting operating systems; Android 2.1 and Windows 7.
Inside, there's a choice of a single-core Intel Atom N450 or the dual-core Atom N550, paired with up to 2GB of memory, integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options.
A 250GB hard disk is at hand for storage duties, and though the 10.1in display offers a basic 1,024x600 resolution, the bundled six-cell battery should impress by keeping you going for up to eight hours.
