This year's Computex is now just weeks away, and Lenovo looks set to use the occasion as an opportunity to present its latest lineup of consumer notebooks.
Kicking off the range will be the IdeaPad Z series, pictured above. Available in 13.3in Z360 or 15.6in Z560 flavours, the notebook is described as a multimedia solution for the mainstream consumer and will be priced from $649 when it launches next month.
Featuring a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and NVIDIA GeForce graphics, the notebooks will pack a fair punch and come equipped with Dolby Advanced Audio and the option for a Blu-ray drive.
A third model - the 15.6in IdeaPad Z565 - will also give consumers the opportunity to take the AMD route and comes equipped with a Phenom II processor and integrated ATI Mobility Radeon graphics. The spec sheet is keeping vague, but we expect to see the finer details - along with pricing for the premium models - when the Z series officially lands.
Meanwhile, those in need of an ultraportable can look forward to Lenovo's new IdeaPad U series models - the 13in U160, 14in U460 and 14in U460s. Designed to cater for "the fashionista in all of us", the systems measure under an inch thick and will be available with unique textured aluminium lids.
Inside, users will have a choice of Intel Pentium, Celeron or Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, whilst the U160 and U460s will also provide options for Intel's yet-to-be-announced ultra-low-volage parts; the 1.2GHz Core i3 330UM, 1.2GHz Core i5 430UM, 1.06GHz Core i5 520UM, 1.2GHz Core i5 540UM, 1.06GHz Core i7 620UM and 1.6GHz Core i7 640UM.
The IdeaPads will feature only integrated Intel HD graphics, but will carry up to 4GB of RAM, up to 500GB of storage, an ambient light sensor to control screen brightness and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Pricing is said to start at $699 for a basic configuration, but there's no mention yet of available battery options or screen resolutions.
