They're a few upcoming challengers to Apple's iPad - from the likes of Dell and HP - however, news is abound today that ASUS is readying its own foray into the ring, with an offering lovingly known as the Eee Pad.
It is believed that ASUS is tapping into the power of the Android platform for the software side of things, whilst NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC will form the heart of the system. Moreover, features ranging from USB connectivity and an integrated webcam, to Adobe Flash support from a software angle, appear to be attempts to leapfrog over Apple's effort.
The Eee Pad is expected to see the light of day during the fast-approaching Computex 2010 show, whilst an actual commercial launch is suggested to take place sometime during Q3, 2010.
A ballpark price-point is around the $500 mark, perhaps with conditions attached.
