Corsair and Kingston have been battling it out for super-fast DDR3 memory supremacy in recent months, but it looks as though Taiwanese manufacturer Walton Chaintech is getting in on the action.
Announced today is the company's all-new Apogee GT DDR3-2400 memory kits, which as the name suggests are set to run at a blazing 2,400MHz.
In addition to the record-matching clock speed, the modules run at latencies of 9-11-10-27-2T at 1.6V - just a fraction slower than Kingston's latencies of 9-11-9-27-2T at the same voltage.
Walton Chaintech's dual-channel kits will be available in 2GB (2x1GB) and 4GB (2x2GB) capacities, and each module comes with a serious-looking heatpipe-equipped heatsink cooler.
There's no mention of pricing and availability as yet, but just don't expect them to be cheap. To give you a ball park, Corsair currently charges $200 (around Ā£140) for each individual DDR3 2,400MHz module.
