London, 21st December, 2009: MSI, the manufacturer of notebooks, PCs and computer components, today announces the release of its curvaceous new MSI Wind U130 and U135 netbooks. Harnessing the power of Intel’s new Pine Trail platform, the two are the first netbooks to achieve international WiMAX Forum certification, pushing the limit of current generation mobile technology.
Continuing the same high standard that users have come to expect from MSI’s Wind range, the U130 and U135 draw upon feedback given from millions of MSI Wind users around the world.
The result is a perfect balance between power and portability – combining the reduced power requirements of the Windows 7 operating system with the latest Intel Atom N450 processor and next-generation single-chipset architecture. The result: power consumption of only 5.5 watts, increasing battery life by 15% and overall performance by 10%. Both notebooks feature a 10” LED backlit display with 1024x600 screen resolution, ensuring comfortable, colourful viewing of documents and web pages.
The U130 and U135 netbooks also bring exclusive MSI ECO Engine Technology to the table, reinforcing the Atom N450’s abilities and significantly increasing the length of time these netbooks can be used. With ECO engine technology, users can choose from 5 power supply modes – Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document and Turbo Battery. Each of these modes offers the most effective balance of battery longevity and performance for each scenario.
Both models offer exemplary connectivity and entertainment, supporting 3.5G WiMAX communication technologies as an option, as well as built-in 802.11b/g/n WLAN, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, V2.0 EDR Bluetooth, stereo speakers and microphones. Bundled software includes MSI’s Easy Face security recognition software, Visual Effect 2 and Print Creation packages.
It’s not just the technology under the bonnet that has evolved - as the latest MSI Wind generation, refinements have been made to the netbooks’ appearance and usability. Externally, hard lines and straight angles have given way to graceful curves and artistic, flowing designs.
The Wind U130 is available in two all-new standard colours: Snow White and Brilliant Black. The Wind U135 comes in a choice of dazzling colour options: Sterling Silver, Brilliant Black, Midnight Blue and Cherry Red. The U135 model also features MSI’s exclusive Chiclet keyboard, utilising an independent key design for quieter typing with improved tactile feedback. The touch pad’s area has also increased by 20%, allowing for easier finger navigation.
The MSI Wind U130 and U135 netbooks are both available from January priced at £229 and £279 respectively. For further information on MSI’s full range of products please visit http://uk.msi.com
