The buzz is building over what Intel will be announcing on December 17, as the firm announces a briefing to show off new products.
Pegged as a CES preview briefing, Intel says it will be displaying the wares it plans to launch at the Las Vegas show, giving select press the chance to avoid the "mayhem".
Thought to be among this week's announcements are several of the first Core i3 processors, some Core i5 refreshes, and news pertaining to graphics.
An industry insider told HEXUS to expect most of the news to centre around Intel's new 32 nm process technology, as 45 nm begin to relinquish their dominance in the firm's future line up.
It's being reported that one of the Core i3 processors being launched Thursday will be the 2.93GHz i3 530, which has already tipped up for sale on e-retailers like A-Power for $152.19.
Cnet also reckons Intel might show off its long awaited Arrandale tech, which combines a dual core CPU and graphics on one chip designed for laptops. The first versions due out are likely to be in Core i3 and i5 flavours, with Core i7 tipped to come later in 2010.
An Intel source confirmed to HEXUS that Cnet's information was "probably accurate," whilst another spokesperson told us the news on Thursday would not "be too earthshaking."
