Introduction
AMD launched the mid-range Radeon HD 5750 and HD 5770 GPUs in October of this year and is betting on the class-leading feature-set to entice buyers into opting for one instead of a Radeon HD 4870 or GeForce GTX 260.The faster-clocked Radeon HD 5770 1,024MB is now generally available from around £115 and represents reasonable value for money, especially if you're planning on buying DX11 games for Christmas.
In an attempt to keep costs down, most newer HD 5770s ship with a cheaper cooler than the full-length model supplied on the reference model. Sapphire currently sells both versions to its distributors and has released a third HD 5770 in the form of the upgraded Vapor-X card.
Focussing on quietness rather than extravagant factory-based overclocks, we turn our attention to a premium Radeon HD 5770.
