MSI first teased its 15in X500 notebook back in May 2009, and some 112 days later, the Taiwanese manufacturer has finally announced a UK launch.
The ultra-thin system, pictured below, is a higher-end offering from MSI's X-Slim series (yes, the series you can catch between your butt cheeks) and despite its ultra-thin frame and 2.1kg weight, the system houses a 15.6in display that offers a generous 1,680x1,050 resolution.
Inside, there's an an ultra-low-voltage 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9600 processor, combined with 4GB of DDR2 memory and a 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card.
On top of that, there's 500GB of storage, Wireless N connectivity, a four-in-one card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, three USB ports, HDMI out, Microsoft's Windows Vista Home Premium operating system and a six-cell battery as standard. MSI even bundles in an external optical drive and a carry bag, too.
There's a decent amount of power, considering the system's sleek dimensions, and the dual-core model mentioned above (product code X600-055UK) will be available this month priced at £799.
Those hoping for something cheaper can look forward to the X600-067UK, a trimmed version with a single-core 1.3GHz Intel Pentium SU2700 processor, 320GB of storage and no bundled optical drive.
