MSI already has itself a handful of ultra-slim notebooks based on Intel's CULV processors, including the 15in X-Slim X600.
If you prefer something with a little AMD flavouring, however, it seems MSI is cooking up a 15in X-Slim X610 and the all-AMD system has made its way into the hands of Russian website 3Dnews.ru.
It may look practically identical, but it's what's inside that counts. Importantly, the X610 swaps out Intel's CULV platform in favour of AMD's Yukon. That means you're looking at an AMD 690M chipset, AMD's low-power 1.6GHz Athlon Neo MV-40 processor and graphics in the form of an ATI Radeon HD 4330 with 512MB of onboard memory.
Elsewhere, you'll find 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive, HDMI out, Wi-Fi connectivity and Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system.
Sounds promising, but the folks at 3Dnews.ru have put the system through its paces and their conclusion is similar to what we found with the Yukon-based HP Pavilion dv2 - meaning less performance than an Intel CULV machine, and poor battery life. It might be cheap though?
