We've been liking the look of ASUS' Eee Top all-in-one PCs ever since the ET1602 passed through our review process earlier this year. Trouble is, we've found them to be limited due to the Intel Atom-based innards, and we've been left wanting more.
Fortunately, more is on the way and it looks as though it'll arrive in the form of the Eee Top ET2002T - a 20in model sporting NVIDIA's ION chipset and an Intel Atom processor.
The system, pictured above, has made an appearance at ASUS.com, along with a complete specification. The ET2002T will sport NVIDIA's ION chipset - complete with a GeForce 9400m IGP - and will be paired with 1.6Ghz dual-core Intel Atom 330 processor. That'll be joined by 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB/320GB hard drive, a DVD burner and Microsoft's Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, complete with a free upgrade to Windows 7.
ASUS' 20in touchscreen offers a 1,600x900 resolution, and the system is equipped with Wireless N and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Users will also find a total of six USB ports, HDMI input for use as a standalone monitor, a multi-card reader and a built-in webcam. All this, along with a bundled keyboard and mouse, will fetch around $600 (roughly £515) when it launches in the coming weeks.
Not a bad looking system, we reckon, but what we really need for comparison's sake is pricing for the full-fat Eee Top ET2203T - that'll feature a 21.5in full-HD display, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, discrete ATI Radeon HD graphics, an integrated TV tuner and a Blu-ray optical drive, too.
We wouldn't be surprised to find ASUS churning out touchscreen Eee Top PCs sometime on or around October 22nd. We're quite looking forward to it.
