Logitech's nano receiver has always impressed on-the-go users due to its tiny dimensions (it protrudes by roughly 8mm), and would-be competitors are only just catching up.
Today, that very nano receiver is being upgraded with what Logitech calls Unifying technology. The result is the Logitech Unifying receiver, a tiny USB dongle that can be paired with up to six Unifying-compatible peripherals at once.
It's useful for freeing up valuable USB ports, of course, but Logitech hasn't confirmed whether or not the Unifying receiver is backward compatible with existing Logitech peripherals.
As far as we can tell, there's official support for four new products: the Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350 ($59.99), Logitech Wireless Keyboard K340 ($49.99), Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 ($69.99) and the Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 ($49.99), all of which will ship with a Unifying receiver as part of the bundle.
Could prove to be useful, if your system doesn't already have Bluetooth built in, that is.
