Point of View announced last week a pair of NVIDIA ION-based motherboards that appeared to fit the bill for a high-def HTPC build.
The board, pictured below, sports NVIDIA's ION chipset - complete with a GeForce 9400M IGP - and couples it with either a single-core Intel Atom 230 processor or a dual-core Intel Atom 330.
Sounds promising, and with HDMI output and a dedicated PCIe x16 slot, it ticks many of the right boxes for an energy efficient HTPC build. All that Point of View failed to mention last week, was pricing.
Fortunately for those contemplating picking either of the boards up, the manufacturer has today shed a little light on what we can expect to pay. According to reports, the single-core bundle, featuring a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 processor with 512K of L2 cache, will be priced at €129 (roughly £116).
For the dual-core offering, featuring a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 processor with 1MB of L2 cache, you'll be looking at €139 (roughly £125).
Seems just a tad pricey, we reckon, but then you are getting a GeForce 9400M IGP, a dual-core Atom processor and a tidy-looking Mini-ITX board. What do you think, anybody tempted?
