Compro Technology, a Taiwanese manufacturer best known for its PC-TV and digital video products, has announced its foray into the network video security market by unveiling a range of home and business IP cameras at Taipei's SecuTech Expo.
Its all-new range, dubbed Compro IP Security, offers network cameras that, when coupled with Compro's Network Video Recorder software, allow users to manage a security system from a PC or compatible Windows Mobile phone.
The cameras, VideoMate IP 50, IP 70, IP 530 and IP 550, pictured above from left to right, are designed to target both home and small business users, says Compro.
For the home, the IP 50 and IP 70 provide an affordable indoor fixed camera solution that supports real-time MPEG-4/MJPEG (IP50) and H.264/MPEG-4/MJPEG (IP70) video compression formats. Both cameras feature Smart Motion Detection, a built-in mic and speaker and a digital I/O for an external sensor and alarm.
The high-performance IP 530 and IP 550 - aimed at the business user - offer the ability to pan 340 degrees and tilt 100 degrees. Featuring optical and digital zoom, respectively, they support the real-time MPEG-4/Motion JPEG compression format. Both are equipped with day and night functionality via mechanical IR cut filter switching, Smart Motion Detection, a built-in mic and speaker and a digital I/O for additional alarm equipment.
There's no mention of availability, but Compro appears to be tackling the network surveillance market head on and claims its range offers an "ease to use, effective high performance professional grade level security solution to meet the most diverse and demanding needs anytime, anywhere around the globe."
