A-DATA has announced a new series of solid-state drives that, on paper, have the performance credentials to go head-to-head with the likes of Intel.
According to the Taiwanese manufacturer, its 2.5in SATAII SSD 300 Plus series, pictured right, features a new controller design and 64MBs of SDRAM that acts as a cache buffer for frequently used data.
The result, it claims, are read and write speeds of 250MB/s and 160MB/s, respectively. Should those figures translate to real-world usage, this could be one of the single quickest solid-state drives around.
The 2.5in SATAII SSD 300 Plus will be available in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, but pricing is yet to be announced.
