Can't remember the last time I gazed upon a laptop and immediately thought "I want", but here's one such system that has me aroused; Dell's Latitude XT2.
The system, pictured below, is dubbed the world's first tablet PC to feature multi-touch technology, and sports Intel's Montevina chipset.
The 12.1in LED capacitive touchscreen provides a 1,280x800 resolution, and can be used with multiple fingers or the bundled EM Digitiser pen. When touch just won't do, there's a full-size keyboard and a useful scroll wheel with click-to-enter and back functionality.
Inside is a choice of low-voltage Penryn-based Core 2 Duo processors, namely the 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo SU9300 and 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400. The CPU's coupled with integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, and up to 5GB of DDR3 memory. Dell's choice of storage solutions is a selection of 64GB or 128GB solid-state drives, or a traditional 80GB hard disk.
Connectivity options come in the form of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, as well as eSATA, FireWire, VGA out and two USB ports. There's an optional finger print reader, and battery choices are four-cell and six-cell, or an impressive nine-cell battery slice.
