Remember the Toshiba netbook we had our eyes on last week? Well, it's now official, and it'll launch as soon as next month.

The netbook, pictured below, has been dubbed the NB100 and offers the usual netbook specification - namely an 8.9in screen, Intel's 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM and Microsoft's Windows XP operating system.

It is essentially more of the same, but it does have its differences, too. Toshiba has thrown in a generous 120GB hard-disk drive, and the three USB ports feature "sleep-and-charge" technology allowing users to charge USB devices with the netbook turned off.

What catches our eye more than anything, though, is the NB100's aesthetics. Unlike the plain white and plastic-like appearance of many other netbooks, Toshiba's ultra-portable system retains the look of sophistication found on its full-size notebooks. It'll be available in a choice of colours, too; Cosmic Black, Champagne Gold and Bright Silver .

Battery life is exactly three hours and 47 minutes, says Toshiba, so we're assuming it features a six-cell battery, and it'll be available with Windows XP or Ubuntu operating systems.

The NB100 will be in stores next month, and is expected to be priced at around £270.
