California-based OCZ Technology Group has announced two new additions to its range of CPU coolers; the Gladiator and Gladiator Max.
The coolers feature a heatpipe direct-touch (HDT) design - allowing the heatpipes direct contact with the processor for efficient heat transfer - and a stacked fan array. That combination, says OCZ, is "built to take on the cooling challenges of today’s most powerful processors".
Both coolers are compatible with AMD AM2, 939, 754, 755 and Intel 775 sockets, and the one major difference between the two is size. The Gladiator, pictured below, features a 92mm PWM-controlled fan that'll run at speeds of 1,200rpm to 2,800rpm whilst producing 19.6dBA to 26.4dBA of noise.
The Gladiator Max, pictured below, is the larger of the two and features a 120mm fan that'll run from 800rpm to 1,500rpm - though, it'll create the same levels of noise as its smaller counterpart.
Both fans are mounted with anti-vibration rubber connectors to help keep things quiet, but it's the four copper heatpipes and pure-aluminium fins that'll appeal to the enthusiast. We don't yet have official cooling figures, but OCZ promises "superior performance" for overclocked systems.
No word on availability yet, but the Gladiator range will ship with a two-year warranty, and at a price point "friendly to a range of budgets" - which, frankly, could be anything.
