If, like many, you've been holding out for the right time to buy a low-cost ultra-portable, that time might be July 1st.
That'll be the date when ASUS' Eee PC 901 will land in the UK, at a lower than expected price of £319. The Atom-powered 901, replacement successor to the already available 900, packs more than just a CPU change, too.
The new-and-improved 901 offers Bluetooth, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a digital array mic - all features that the £329 Eee PC 900 sadly lacked. ASUS has also upped its game by including a six-cell, 6600mAh battery, to the dismay of existing 900 owners we're sure.
The device is powered by Intel's 1.6GHz Atom processor, namely the 2.5W N270, and ASUS states that it'll arrive in plentiful supply - stock shortages, therefore, shouldn't be a problem. It insists, however, that the 901 won't bring an end to the 900 - though surely that'll happen sooner rather than later.
As previously reported, the 901 will see the ASUS logo disappear from its exterior, putting the focus firmly on the Eee brand.
