Hey! Who graffitied on my laptop?

There's an ongoing problem facing Dell today, its systems just aren't deemed to be as cool as the Apple alternatives. Though most of us aren't lured by looks, Dell wants to get back some of those iHeartJobs users and in order to do so, it needs some sexy-looking products.

Unfortunately, Dell isn't renowned for its aesthetic feats and the manufacturer has therefore turned to Brooklyn-based artist, Mike Ming. The result? Inspiron laptops with graffiti-inspired decor:

There's a choice of two designs; Bunch O Surfers or Sea Sky (pictured). There is, however, a downside. Opting for one of these hip-looking Mike Ming edition laptops will add $100 to your laptop's price-tag.

Commenting on the design, Ming says: "I wanted to create a sense of energy, playfulness, sophistication and psychedelic momentum when I started this. This new technique from Dell brings my inspiration - water and the energy it produces - to life and gives computer aficionados their own display of style."

Pricing for the Ming-inspired Inspiron starts at $699 in the US, but there's no sign of a UK release yet. We're hoping these designs do reach UK shores as we're liking what we see, but, what do you think, dear readers? Cool or not cool? Let us know in the HEXUS forums.

I think it's ming-ing. Sorry, but I would pay $100 extra to have them remove it, not add it.
Its not bad, but not the design I would choose.

Come to think of it, I can't imagine a design I'd want on my laptop, unless it could be changed as regularly as a desktop image - I'd get bored…

LoL! That made me chuckle.

Visually, it's not quite appealing to my own tastes. It is a right step for Dell though. Their Laptops/PCs are very dull to look at.

I hope the design also flows around to around the screen/keyboard too as it would be a shame if you paid US$100 for something to be drawn on the aft side of the screen.
Is Mike Merciless?

Not my kind of thing but I can see some people wanting this. :)
Fugly, IMO; personally, I think that some of their more recent XPS laptops (the M1330 and 1530) look at least as attractive as the average Apple.
