Kobalt Computers, a UK-based family run business, announced yesterday the launch of two new gaming notebooks with additional mobile multimedia, workstation and professional audio models to follow.
The Mojave IX and Mojave XI (pictured below) notebooks are both available immediately and are based on Intel's Santa Rosa platform.
The Mojave IX, starting from £1365, has a base specification that features a 2.1GHz T8100 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GBs of 667MHz DDR2 Ram, a 512MB GeForce 8700GT, a 100GB hard drive and a host of connectivity options.
The Mojave XI, starting from £1705, cranks up the power and has 2.4GHz T8300 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GBs of 667MHz DDR2 Ram, a 512MB GeForce 8800GTX and a 160GB hard drive. Again, various connectivity options and optional upgrades are available - at a cost.
Both notebooks feature a 17" WUXGA display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. Offering as much choice as you'll need, Kobalt also claim to be "the UK's only notebook manufacturer to offer the choice of DVD, HD-DVD or Blu-Ray drives".
Kobalt's Managing Director, Andrew Richards said: "We are excited to be expanding the Kobalt brand into the notebook market, to which we can bring our expertise in custom building and first class customer service".
