Barely larger than a credit card
TrekStor, manufacturer of MP3 players, external hard disks, and USB sticks has today launched its new pocket-sized DataStation microdisk.
Available in 20GB, 80GB or 120GB capacities, the drive measures in at a small 9.0 x 5.7 x 0.64cm and retails at an RRP of £69, £119 and £149 respectively. Better still, it weighs between 65 and 75 grams meaning you could carry it around in your pocket, likewise, you could lose it without noticing too.
The 1.8" hard disk requires no external power source and comes complete in high quality aluminium housing. It packs a USB 2.0 connection and comes complete with Nero BackItUp 2 Essentials. Suitable for Windows, Linux and OS X, the microdisk isn't a bad little solution.
"We’re living in an ever more mobile world where we’re continually on the road and a home office is no longer a rarity. Naturally we want to offer our customers a simple solution for conveniently transferring data," said TrekStor chief executive, Daniel Szmigiel. "That’s why we’ve now developed our first micro hard disk. It’s barely larger than a credit card and can be taken anywhere without being a burden. It’s the perfect storage device for our mobile generation."
