Radeon HD 3450, only $50

Madbox PC recently leaked details on a selection of forthcoming budget AMD graphics cards and if you're after a bargain or two, here are the specs of the three cards on the horizon:

  • Radeon HD 3450
The HD 3450 will set you back a mere $50 and is based on the RV260 core. It features 256MB of RAM, a VGA port, a DisplayPort and it'll run along happily at 525MHz.

  • Radeon HD 3470
For an extra $10, the 3470 will double up on memory (512MB) and provide a DVI port. It'll also run at 600MHz.

  • Radeon HD 3650
Last but not least, the $100 HD 3650, raises the clock speed to 800MHz, offers 512MB of RAM and utilises a RV635 core.

Radeon HD 3450

We wouldn't expect any of the three cards to run card-killing titles such as EA's Crysis, but if HD video is what you're after, these budget cards might appeal. Unfortunately, there's no news yet on when AMD will get these to market.

Specs of the RV260 core is between the Radeon 9000 (RV250) and Radeon 9200 (RV280)? Direct X 8.1 anyone?
Yep,antique hardware right there.Just switch the places of the ‘2’ and ‘6’.I am wondering wether or not this 3rd generation mid-range cards will be as lame in-game as the previous ones i.e. HD2600xx or nVidia's eqivallent 8600xx which also sucked.
I've got a 2400Pro and I must say I'm most pleased with the performance. Video quality is excellent and CPU usage is next to nothing when playing a video. To top it all off it's passive! £30 very well spent. Horses for courses…
