Sound, final thoughts and rating
We've waffled on with a fair amount of EVOKE Flow praise, but we've yet to touch on one of the most important factors - sound.
EVOKE Flow feature's PURE's commonly-used full-range 3in driver and provides a power output of 7W RMS. For a single-speaker mono solution, sound quality is surprisingly good. Even when turned up to high volume, audio is clear, well-balanced and although unable to shake the earth in terms of bass, it's plenty ample for its targeted use.
So, if the EVOKE Flow does DAB and FM extremely well, Internet radio and media streaming brilliantly, and has ample sound quality to boot, this has to be the near-perfect radio, right?
Well, almost, but it does have a few minor omissions that are worth noting. The most glaring of which is that the EVOKE Flow offers no Live Pause functionality - a feature you'd expect to find on most modern radios.
Aside from that, users without a wireless network may be despondent with the unit's lack of Ethernet connectivity.
However, don't let those minor obstacles deter you. PURE's Evoke Flow is quite simply one of the very best digital radios we've come across. Currently priced at around £135, it's an expensive prospect for most. The added functionality, though, will be welcomed by those seeking the radio that does it all - PURE's Evoke Flow, in our estimation, is that radio.
