Nokia has issued an advisory detailing overheating problems associated with its much-used BL-5C battery.

The BL-5C is produced by a number of partners, with over 300 million batteries manufactured to date. The advisory refers to 46 million produced by Matsushita Battery Industrial Company between December 2005 and November 2006.

Specifically, there have been approximately 100 cases of the Matsushita-produced BL-5C overheating when left to charge. Nokia will replace any defective batteries free of charge.
