Samsung has shipped over six million Galaxy Tab tablet computers since debuting less than a year ago. These impressive numbers pale in comparison against the Apple iPad's, which has sold almost 30m units since April 2010.

Now bolstered by the Tab 10.1, released in June 2011, Samsung is making another concerted effort into highlighting why their Tab is better than Apple's.

Putting its own slant on the Olympic motto, Samsung reckons the Android-powered, 10.1in Galaxy Tab is lighter, faster and thinner than you-know-what, and here's how:

Lighter

Faster

Thinner

We'd love to hear from (prospective) Galaxy Tab owners out there. Do you feel as if you own a superior product?

I am surprised this hasn't sold more, it deserves too.
because the first thing you'd give to a stranger is your tablet.

Based ont he hardware yes, just a shame Android market is less mature in the tablet sector at the moment. Im hoping that there will be a decent tablet that comes out at a really good price point which encourages people to buy it, from there hopefully the market will mature and more people will feel comfortable spending more ont he higher end ones.

Im waiting myself :)
still looks daft looking at one while your walking around.

Sales figures are for the original 7" tab which is quite simply an oversized phone that can't make calls …

The tab 10.1 is much better it is just rather late to the show it should of been out just after the xoom and around the time of the asus instead of last week (in the uk) well I say its out there twitter claimed it was released but i've yet to see any for sale.

What ever happened to the 10.1v it had better specs but was much fatter was supposed to be a vodafone exclusive ages ago
