Migraine's no laughing matter but we did have a double take (and check to see the date wasn't April 1st) when we first saw the TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulator) Migraine Zapper over on Live Science.
But, we think this is a genuine product and a possible breakthrough.
Reporting on a 200-person study presented to the American Headache Society, Live Science says that, "74 percent of the people who used the TMS device reported feeling only mild or no headaches afterwards. The relief was often felt immediately. Ability to function at work after two-hours also improved, and no side effects were reported."
The zapper is said to be an adaptation of a magnetic pulse technique originally developed to treat psychological disorders, such as depression.
Oh, and we were going to end by saying, "Bring on the portable version" but, seemingly, this IS the portable version!
