PRESS RELEASE

Huawei's Ascend P1 packs a dual-core processor, 4.3" Super AMOLED screen, 8-megapixel camera and 1800mAh battery into an elegant and super-slim frame

Basingstoke, August 21 2012: Huawei, a global telecoms leader in smart technology, announces its super-slim and powerful Ascend P1 smartphone is available today from Vodafone UK, as well as from various independent retailers. At just 7.69mm thick, the Ascend P1 is among the the slimmest smartphones on the market. It comes with a premium black soft-touch matt finish, and is available free on £26 pay monthly price plans at Vodafone.

Its launch in the UK is supported by a significant marketing campaign covering outdoor, print and digital media. The Ascend P1, running Google's Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich' operating system, combines beauty and brains. As well as its sleek design, it packs a bright 4.3-inch screen, powerful dual-core processor, remarkable 8 megapixel camera and a durable 1800mAh battery.

The Ascend P1 was built for entertainment. Its powerful 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 dual-core processor and knock-out PowerVR SGX graphics chip make it ideal for services such as mobile gaming, movies and catch-up TV. Imaging and video are brought to life with a stunning 4.3-inch Super AMOLED 960 x 540 screen and Dolby surround sound. All of which is supported by an 1800mAh battery, optimised with Huawei's own signal detection technology, making the entertainment experience last longer.

With the Ascend P1, you also get an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD video recording, plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The Ascend P1 features the latest BSI module, allowing great pictures even in low light. It also has face recognition and a panorama function.

The Ascend P1 is also built to connect, supporting fast HSDPA network and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) connectivity, which makes downloading and sharing rich multimedia content a breeze. It is also DLNA certified, giving you the ability to share your pictures and videos easily with other DLNA-enabled devices.

The Ascend P1 is easy to use. As well as ‘Ice Cream Sandwich', it includes Huawei's unique HAP 5.1 interface, which enables easy one-step access to dedicated applications from the unlock screen, including call-screen, messaging and camera.
