Amsterdam, July 10^th, 2014 - TP Vision, the first European TV brand to bring TVs powered by Android^TM to the market, announces its latest entry to its range of UHD Ambilight TVs powered by Android^TM. The 65PUS9809 further enhances the TV experience by providing very fast and fluent operation. Certified by Google^TM, easy access to the Google^TM Play Store and the existing Philips Smart TV opens up a huge variety of TV content, games, apps and services. In addition, the Philips 65PUS9809 offers the ultimate in UHD picture quality: this features first-class Ultra Resolution upscaling of non-UHD content and Micro Dimming Premium and Bright Pro for the highest possible contrast. The 65PUS9809 will be available during the third quarter of 2014 in Europe and Russia.

Certified Android UHD TV

The Philips 65PUS9809 comes with Android fully integrated into the TV. Certified by Google, it seriously enhances the Smart TV experience by offering access to all apps, services, and content in the Google Play Store. This complements the existing Philips Smart TV offering.

Upscaling every piece of content to UHD quality

The 164cm (65'') Philips UHD TV has the ultimate in Ultra HD resolution picture performance on board. Its award winning Perfect Pixel Ultra HD picture quality engine digitally adjusts and optimises picture quality to deliver razor sharp, detailed pictures with great depth and contrast. It features Ultra Resolution - Philips' upscaling solution - to display non-UHD content as detailed, clear and sharp as if it were shot with Ultra HD resolution.

Highest contrast with state-of-the-art dimming technology

Bright Pro can boost the contrast locally to a light output that is two times better than standard LED backlight technology is able to deliver. It provides lifelike pictures with crisper brights, deep velvety blacks and superior contrast in daylight or evening conditions.

Award winning Micro Dimming Premium further optimises the contrast to deliver the deepest blacks and brightest whites. It accurately analyses each picture and adjusts the direct LED backlight, which is split into 144 segments, accordingly.

Pure design complemented by four-sided Ambilight

Philips 65PUS9809 comes with a very slim anthracite-coloured metal bezel around its 164cm (65'') screen. It stands on distinctively designed ‘edge' feet. The TV's clean design made of real materials with high-end finishing is complemented by four-sided Ambilight that throws a glow of light onto the wall behind the TV.

Wireless subwoofer and carefully designed speakers for great sound

To deliver the ultimate TV experience, the Philips 9800 series TV is equipped with high-class acoustic enhancement for a powerful surround sound sensation. A by-packed wireless subwoofer - it can be neatly placed out of sight - delivers vibrant, natural and full sound.
