What about ARM?
What Oistamo didn't mention was that this long and rich heritage has revolved around processors designed by members of the ARM ecosystem, with which Intel is becoming increasingly competitive.
This looks like a victory for Intel over ARM, in the short term at least, and it will be interesting to see if Nokia launches a similar device using something like the Snapdragon or Tegra chipsets in the near future.
Then again, maybe there's already some NVIDIA action in it. Nokia's slick video for the Booklet (below) stresses it's HD ready and even has an HDMI port for HD out. It's hard to see how this could be achieved unless the Atom processor had some help from NVIDIA's ION graphics. Unless the CPU is a PineView, that is...
