What next from MSI?

Micro P director, Mark Kahr, confirmed the distributor's interest in the netbook side of things in a statement accompanying the news: "With the emerging netbook products looking to explode in the UK market, it is crucial that Micro P align itself with a strong netbook partners," he said.

"MSI is a brand it was difficult to overlook with such positive feedback from the market and our customers, which was supported by many industry awards for the MSI Wind.  The decision to partner with MSI was an easy one as I have no doubt they will carve a place in the netbook arena."

We concluded by asking Stewart what we can expect to see from MSI in the near future. "In terms of laptop, at the moment we are focusing more on Wind netbook and our gaming series," he said. "Around the end of this year, MSI is planning to relaunch its entertainment segment (E-Series) with more features aimed at those just looking to use their laptop for TV, watching HD content and general multimedia applications."

"In terms of components, we will follow Intel's launch schedule for their new  Nehalem processor by introducing our new MB range X58 Eclipse. We have also started to put more focus on the high end user, introducing Water Cooled components such as Graphics Cards (280GTX Hydrogen) and P45 Diamond."
